oscars

Anything meaty. They can get along with other fish provided that they have a big enough tank. It also depends on the personality of the fish. I've seen really aggressive ones that will attack heaters, fish, and hands and I've seen some really mellow ones that never harmed a feeder.

think of oscars as huge, neat looking, and agressive goldfish. ]v[onster by all means:cool-1: if u have the tank space get 1 but be sure ur filtration rocks cuz they r dirty bastards.

They will eat almost anything, and if they have the space they will live with almost anything.
They arent agressive, they're territorial:)

yeah just like rallysman said keep them well feed and with fish they cant fit in their mouth and change that water

I have a small oscar and he's just like that. He's being keep with other fish right now but I'm trying to move the others. Here's a picture of him.

It doesn't take long for them to get to 8+ inches. Mine eat anything from pelets, snails, shrimp, feeders, plecos, just about anythng that fits in their mouths....

I've been wanting to add a albino to my tank just so my oscar will have someone to mess with.

I've had my Tiger Oscar (Kurgan) for about 5 to 6 years now. He took out the heater before he was full grown, destroyed any live plants I've tried to put in the tank, and slaughtered any feeder fish or ghost shrimp I put in the tank.

Here's the cool part about him. After Katrina I lost alot of my smaller cichlids but all of my bigger fish lived. I was worried about introducing new scoobie snacks to the tank. I tried with a couple of convicts and a jack dempsey and he doesn't mind one bit. Since then I've added firemouths, and a jaguar, and he still doesn't mess with them. But if I put a snail in the tank, he will slurp em' up, and spit the shell at the glass to let me know he got em out.

As far as filteration goes my emperor does the trick. My water stays crystal clear. And my foot long pleco does a decent job too, lol.
