Good job with finding them a new home, just hope they didn't end up in an even smaller tank.

Don't jinx it, I hope they ended up in a good home I really do. I'd have loved to be able to put em in my pond but my turtles would probably just have a snack,I'm willing to bet their too slow to get away from the turtles

Quick bump instead of starting a new thread, But would you guys say a 75gallon is good for a single oscar for life or no? If not what would you say is the minimum for one?

Alrighty. just need to find a way to mod my dual 55 stand to fit a 75 on bottom or get a separate stand and find room in my room >.< 2 55s a 30 and 20 along with a 260 gallon indoor pond all in my bedroom takes up alot of space dont have much to walk around or sit in lol but is it worth it? Hell Yeah it is. Still got time tho I replaced the 2 oscars with a single one and hes already grown 1/2in-1in since I got him

I have a 6 inch oscar in a 55 gal tank alone yesterday after treating ick with canning no additives salt 2tbls per 5 gal I noticed a clear round spot on the outer edge of the eye. I netted bull and gently wiped the eye with soft tissue paper thinking it was just something on the eye...however the spot is still there and now (bull) will not accept food from me nor does he get excitied during feeding. I fear bull does not trust me anymore.

Bull's condition today:
A large gash on his side with scales missing as if he injured himself on something sharp...lava rocks or driftwood.
Bull's fins stand at attention color is good and coat is shiny and swimming normal he refuses to eat and stays close to the glass in the back of the tank.

Tank Changes:
Tank cleaned extensively 2x 90% (well) water changes and all but 1 filter changed I have 3 power pumps which cycle the water at over 1000gph baking soda added for ph level of 8.0-8.4...water temp 74-78 degrees. All chemical test either @ 0 or ideal.

Bull's Diet:
Live crickets/minnows/redwigglers. <-----bait store - ghost shrimp<---petshop. Sweetpeas canned/tropical fish flakes/shrimp pellets/frozen bloodworms/beefhearts.

I have no clue as to what this clear spot could be anyone know or have any suggestions would be greatly appericated.
