I have an 8" veiled finned tiger Oscar and a 6" wild Oscar in my tank rite now. I just added the wild oscar in about 3 weeks ago. I was just curious how oscars act with one another. I know I have some time to wait to c if they r breeding pairs but they've been acting pretty strange. The have been sleeping together at nite and r always swimming together. Is this normal and do u guys think they coul b a male and female, male and male or female and female?

I have three large oscars in my 400l tank, they get along well most of the time, and always like to rest together. They paired up once and tried to breed, my convicts however put a stop to that. Oscars can be funny in that they'll be best friends one minute and picking on each other ther next.

nice oscar and hard to say if they start laying eggs then u know...

Totally normal behaviour in my experience. I've had quite a few Oscars and my current pair are much the same as yours. They always sleep close to each other and often cruise the tank together. That doesn't stop them facing off frequently too. Mine have never tried to mate so I'm not sure if they're male & female, but they do like to hang out together most of the time when they're not fighting....

The baby's would be terrific.

I heard oscars get along pretty well most of the time. But was advised not to have them in odd numbers. For instance, if a male and female pairs up..the third one is going to cop a bashing.
