Some people are just crazy! :screwy:

So what happened did the customer come back or no?

Sorry just got home from work. Good news, I guess, is no. Haven't decided if this a good thing or not. I really don't have a big enough permanent home right now so I woukd have had to get rid of them later anyway. And all day today was idiots on parade describing overcrowding conditions revolving around oscars in 29-29 gallon tanks. If you ever see on news about petstore manager shoots up fish department in Florida, don't expect any posts for a whike.

A 55? Well, I'd say that's a good bare minimum (with LOTS of water changes). However, I will say I've seen a few Oscars in my time that would be unable to turn around in a 55 (all of them raised in large ponds, btw.) Raises the question of just how large Oscars would be getting if kept in larger systems (with better, more consistant water quality). I've heard some people say that get two feet in the wild...I don't believe that for a minute, but I do wonder....

I mean seriously how many oscars have any of us seen in our lives that were ALL THIER LIVES in a large system, and fed a good, varied diet?

I don't know, but I have an oscar pushing 15" so I'm changing my old minimum thoughts from 55 to 75g

Obviously a 55 is better than someone stuffing them in a 20

if my Oscar was in a 20 gal he would barely be able to swim in a circle
some people are real dumb to put a 14"+ fish in a 20 gal
same on those who do! :headshake:nono::thumbsdow
