Thanks guys. i will keep doing some research on the catfish and see where i can track down the congo dolphins!

The Congo Dolphins (mormyrops kanume) have very small mouths and feed mostly on small worms and such are are no threat to your fish. I know they are found in Lake Victoria not sure about the other Rift Lakes.

Just found that planet earth video on youtube... in the video they say dolphin fish eat cichlids, may be a different type though. Heres the link.

That is not the same species that is normally sold as Elephant nose fish. This species does occur in rift lakes.
