Thanks for your suggestions, everyone.
This is my first time to take care of bichirs so I really don't know what to expect if I mix it with other fish.
I think I'm gonna try Gar. I am also planning to add a long nose? Do you think it's a good idea?

Will need a big tank and option is to get lower jaw polys. Good option and should be fine together.

Cichlids, Cats, some species of Knives, Lungfish, Arowana, Plecos, Gar, Datnoid, and many others. Polypterus can live with basically anything that is too big for them to eat.

and in the case of mine they won't even bother baby mollies but that is rare

Plecos are not a good choice as they can chew the slime coat off f your Bichir.

It depends on the pleco bristlenose are a good option commons are not by any means they seem to be the worst culprits

As for Plecos, well you've heard some have had issues. To minimize chances of problems I'd make sure to try and stay away from omnivorous and carnivorous Plecos. There are strictly vegetarian plecos and you maybe safer comm'ing them.

my understanding is even the strictly herbivores can be a problem just keep your eye on them and remove them if a problem arises

Actually, it's my brother's tank. It is a 90-gallon tank and it doesn't have any decorations yet. How about the Alligator gar? Hujeta gar can grow really big, right? I think around 30 inches long?

Alligator gar make Hujeta gar look like guppies in captivity they get 5'-6'

from wikipedia

"Anecdotal evidence in several scientific reports suggest that analligator gar can grow up to 10 ft (3.0 m) in length and weigh as much as 300 lb (140 kg); however in 2011 the largest alligator gar ever caught and officially recorded was 8 ft 5 1⁄4 in (2.572 m) long, weighed 327 lb (148 kg)"

Oh, I didn't know it'll grow that big.
Thank you for sharing that info.
Can you suggest me a type of fish for a 90-gallon tank other than the Gar?
