Other Things Fishkeeping Has Lead To

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
fishkeeping has made me antisocial because i prefer the company of my non-judgmental fish as opposed to the ignorant hateful people still out there.

jk

Because of fishkeeping,I now work in a Water Quality Lab and actually have benifits and vacation.
I was self employed before,
of course the fish still contribute to me being broke. Who can resist another fisj or tank.

Fishkeeping has made me respect the art of money management. I have managed to spend a ton of money on fish with no regard to my personal finances. LOL

Never really thought about it but heres an interesting point.

I got into fish keeping because of fishing. I discovered channel cats and began researching thier biology and behavior to be a better catfisher. My love of channel cats lead me to buy a ten gallon tank and a couple of columbian cat sharks (because of course they reminded me of tiny channel cats!). Obviously that was a huge mistake I know that now...they moved to a 55 and then I gave them away to a guy with a 240 gal saltwater tank.

Anyhow - I still fish but these days I'm actually more apt to strap on some goggles and try to observe the fish and thier behavior rather than catch them! Funny how the hobby that started my fishkeeping obssession has changed and enriched the original hobby!

it was a shock to learn that fish have individual personalities. I started respecting animals more.

I have learned to deal with incredibly stupid people, with great patience. :D

sorry miles no matter how much you love them they are still fish and not people...........:ROFL:

I loved to see that fish had personalities, even more than a cat.

It's made me more concerned of where my money goes. Because if I find $10 is missing, and it hasnt been spent on either Fish Magazines or at the LFS, someones stolen it.

It has probably made me a lucky person in that, if I was never introduced to fish-keeping, I never would of thought about getting a job at a LFS. But I didnt know where to get a job that I would even remotely enjoy beforehand, so I now have my resume in a very good LFS (My favourite) and all I think about is what questions Im going to deal with, how to get there, what to spend money on (Bank It/Fish It).

All signs are good. keep in mind Im only 14, so a job this young would be a great head start into the future.
