I think all Catfish have some sort of mild venom in their spines. I got hit by a couple of Cats before. Worst one was my Clarias that I used to have. It scratched down my forearm and it felt like it was on fire for a few hours.

When I was a teenager I was stuck by a catfish on my hand while fishing. Same type painful experience and as an added bonus, there was a small hole there for like a year where the skin wouldn't grow back together.
