yup :D Apparently they love to play with a lot of the generic cat toys. They can also be trained to come on command and use a litter box (we haven't gotten to that point though). Definately a pretty cool animal.

All right, the "ETC" held a lot under it, then. Sounds better.

A fair substitute for a special hedgie food would be a mixture of dry ferret food and dry low-fat catfood...
Mixture depending on the age and activity of the animal.

Nice animal, by the way.

A curious fact: a friend of mine made a "hamster wheel" for his african pygmy hedgie. The wheel is about 1,5 feet diameter. He installed a bicyckle trip gauge to it (and yes, he has adjusted it right) .
It's outrageous. The hedgehog does 10+ KILOMETERS every night, the record being over 18 km.

Thats like 6 1/2 miles a night! I knew they were extremely active at night but thats insane :eek:

She does have a wheel, it was just out of frame in the picture. Like this one:
