We brought this big guy home last night, pretty neat. He's a couple of years old and the original owner wanted to plant his tank so couldn't keep him. The owner of our lfs immediately took him in for us, he knows us well :) I've never seen one around here, I don't know how common they are. He's about 5-6 inches.

Look like he has good color quality. Rainbow cichlid is fairly common and inexpesive in my LFSs. But I never wanted to have them cause they looked drab brown in the store, until I saw Lee's you tube on the little beauty. Now I want to try them out but don't know wether the LFS strain is of good color quality..

@ Azedenkae, I'm not sure why his top fin is jagged, we only got him yesterday and it was like that, the current fish in the tank don't go near enough to get a bite in, haha.
@ tiger15 nice video, ours is a little more orange than in the pictures and he looks really nice, he brings a lot of color to the tank :) I have no idea where the guy who originally had him got him from but were glad we got him.

It kind of looks natural but I'll guess we'll see with time if it grows back, The top fins look a lot different in the video that was posted above so we'll see what happens.

nice fish !!! good color....fins should grow back..

looks nice he will heal up in no time, looks very old though but that mite just be through lack of colour atm.
