Walleye aren't terribly intelligent,a smallmouth bass may be the way to go.Exactly right lol, I do like puffers but I'm leaning more towards wild species local to my state, I know to quarantine and dose for parasites and pathogens on the fish.
The walleye I chose because it's a predatory fish and it's nocturnal for the most part, which IMO animals who have those traits tend to be intelligent.
He's estimated to be 12 inches so far, going to be upgrading eventually. He does have a Sandy substrate there's just a handful of leftover rocks throughout the tank, it's hard to find smooth sand in-store around here my best bet would be to buy online or get some from lake Superior this summer and just cook itWalleye aren't terribly intelligent,a smallmouth bass may be the way to go.
Also the substrate in a dragon gobies tank should be smooth sand, not gravel.
Congrats on your dragon, how long is he?
Sounds fun I'm really a fan of natives,Also where I live there are an array of various fish species, walleyes, Lrg mth bass, Sm mth bass, rock bass, crappie, trout, variations of pan fish, sucker fish, mudpuppies, northern pike, musky, tiger musky, cat fish, and a few others that I can't remember lol.
So really I've got a lot of options depending on the permits and licensing regulations.
