yea man jags r like pitbulls full of spunk.energy always tenacious, I peg the jag to be the opposite of a Dempsey per say, jags r very in ur face were ever u are in the room he will be on the side of the tank nearest to u tryna get ur attention, very happy to own a jag. I remember admiring them in petstores wishing I had a tank big enuff until I went all the way an bought my 125, was worth it tho.

Well... I know most people here tend to prefer jags because they are so common more people keep them... But I wanted to comment because cubans where probably one of my favorite centrals I have ever kept. They have awesome personality were never afraid of me or anything else for that matter. My pair claimed an entire 125 and made life a living hell for anything else that I had in there with him. Him and his female got along most of the time and they had quite a bit of color to them. Easily one of my favorite centrals I would highly recommend them. Here is a couple vid of my old pair fighting a pair of larger fenestratus.

I've kept both, spawned both, they are both great. Cubans can be a bit more aggressive, but not overly so.
Both were considered to be in the same genus until only a few years ago, when Nandopsis was restricted to the cichlids of the Caribbean islands.
It is thought that Nandopsis are simply the more primitive ancestors of the more modern Parachromis
