Outbreak!!! HELP!!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Going into this water change 0 nitrite slightly over 0 ammonia, 15 nitrates. I'm just trying to purge the melafix and salt at this point, or anything undetectable in the water. This almost has to be more than cloudy eye.

Bump. I could use any available advice. My large Florida gar is looking better and better as the day goes on. This is the first sign of improvement I have seen out of it. I have seen cloudy eye a few times, but have never had such a persistent case.

The main issue is the ornate and Raphael catfish. They are both looking bad. The water change to remove melafix and salt seems to have helped, as they are both moving around now. Still, I cannot help but think I need to employ a heavier hitting medicine. Can anyone reccomend an effective antibiotic that is safe to dose with filters running?

I used a tea tree oil treatment. you can buy the bottle at your LFS its good for bacteria. Try this out with the salt and water changes

Melafix is made with tea tree oil so theyre in the same boat. But my endli had a cloudy eye after he jumped out and after treating with melafix and salt he was better. Wish i could help you out more. Hopefully it all goes away soon with no harm done. But like you said it sounds like it must be something else, not just cloud eye. Keep us updated
