When I first got them, they were being called Gymnogeophagus Arroyo Yerbalito/Rio Yerbalito but now I believe the location variant name is Quilero. Great color, best kept as 1 male and as many females as you can get, I've got 1 male with 7 females in 1 tank and 1 male and 4 females in another.

yes, the correct name is Gymnogeophagus gymnogenys "Quilero".
Arroyo Yerbalito is one of the streams where we use to collect them....

I'm considering the saxatilis pikes (in pic below)I received from Ken Davis in the pond this spring, do you think they can handle cool temp fluctuations?
