outdoor summer cichlid pond pic&update thread

yeah ill get pond pix up soon a storm just blew through and now my water is all brown and full of leaves :irked: :irked:

yes i feed NLS thera+ every few days 2mm pellets they SWARM to eat them hehe
 
Well now i know what my next purchase is going to be. The wife said i couldn't put any more tanks in the house but she didn't say anything about outside the house!!
 
Here are some Red Ceibals, they were maybe an inch in May when put in the pond, about 4" now

In late afternoon, they lead there fry into 2"-3" of water to graze. Back to the nest under liner folds, to avoid the racoons in the evening.

Gymnos were about an inch in spring 3"-4" now, working on their 2nd set of fry.

I love it. I live in Florida and I know several people who raise fry in kiddie pools outside. I've thought very seriously about using this as a fry grow-out method in the summer. My only concern is proper filtration (and the lawn maintenance guys hitting it with a lawnmower). I'd love to see pictures of the full setups and hear more about how they're being filtered.
