outside aquarium?

do you guys think it would get too hot in south FL for an outdoor tank?

i think that it will be to hot in the garage if your garage is any thing like mine and it isnt practical to buy a thousand dollar cooling unit. i would just keep it outside with a large school of mosquito fish or guppies. somthing that doesn't require a sertain temp or water quality and they love to eat insect larvae. if you must keep larger fish i would go with gar or oscars. they live right in your area and they are relatively inexpesnsive. make sure you have a good heater for cold nights though. try and find a shady spot too!

Depends on the fish, small sunnies and such will eat them, keep the tanks well aerated which will also help with the high temp. days and surface motion like from a powerhead discourages mosquitos from egg laying, if it is still a problem make or buy a tank cover like for a lizard tank, made from plastic mesh window screen, they can't lay eggs in water they can't reach. Watch out for racoon and possums. When I was in Leesville I lost a couple tubs of sunnies and bullheads that way, racoon snack bar.

I appreciate all of the info you guys gave and I will keep ya'll posted on my outdoor aquarium. Should I go ahead and put a sump on the tank?
