There are parasitic isopods, these guys arent one, they're just deep-water scavengers. I could never keep one in my home for fear that it would crawl out at night and eat me for all the torture I inflicted on pill bugs as a kid.

Looking at them and their shell I can see the inspiration for quite a few movie and cartoon monster villains in Japanese science fiction and anime.
