Almost sounds like a script.

I'm sure its a standard response they've given a million times. Pretty lame. It would be nice if a rep would take the time to review some of the more detailed questions that have been brought up in this thread and provide some more in depth answers.

A few days ago you were complaining that answers provided were from an undereducated kid making it up as he went along... Now your complaining that the answers are scripted...

It's also likely that this response was written when the question was first received, then when the same question was received 3 other times in the next day and a half, that original response was cut and pasted...

Please do note that in both responses I shared here from the Seachem forum both points (does not build up & does not reduce oxygen @ 5x dosage) were confirmed while being worded differently...

I did and do admit that one response was from a member, not a Seachem Representative. But a Seachem Rep thanked that member for posting the detailed response they posted. If the member's post was inaccurate the Seachem Rep would not be expressing thanks, they would be correcting the misinformation. Reading other threads on that forum shows the member who answered my question does so often and appears to be a knowledgeable member whose input is respected and supported by Representatives.

Even on their forum, they are still trying to sell their product......I am suggesting perhaps there answer/script has changed...Also please do not talk down on me...How the hell was I "complaining" about anything. I don't give a **** what any of you guys do......

I agree / understand they are trying to sell their product on their forum…

But lying about build up or depleting oxygen levels really won’t sell more product.

Maybe I used the wrong word to say “complaining” and I‘m sorry if I put that twist on your words… Previously you did suggest an answer straight from Seachem was unreliable because the Seachem Representative was likely a high school kid on a summer job… and now you have suggested the answer was scripted… which seem to be opposing critiques of the same source…

…and I am not talking down on you, or anyone. At the end of a rather lengthy, intelligent debate it seems to me that we have come across some rather consistent answers that appear logical and come from a source that is fairly reliable. I don’t expect this to force anyone to change their mind or their habits… but I also see no reason to criticize the conclusion simply because it’s not what someone originally believed.

I also fully acknowledge that much of this debate is splitting hairs and the conclusion one way or the other really doesn’t change what most of us see/suggest as the ideal way to use the product… Use as directed and only overdose as needed… Keeping in mind that some members have experience under dosing with no ill effects and many members have experience with overdosing with no ill effects…

The lack of tone in text communication often allows words to be read differently than they were typed. I’ve enjoyed considering the perspectives presented throughout this thread and have learned a few things trying to find answers to questions brought up here. I also harbor no “I’m right” or “you’re wrong” feelings regarding any of it as all of the opinions I’ve read here seem logical and are often supported by user experience… like I’ve said, we’ve been splitting hairs for a while…

Thanks to everyone for their input and thanks for putting up with my over involvement in the thread :D

How is that an opposing critique? Kids can copy and paste...The answer from them changed......For the better, in their favor. I can live with that. But until someone tells me how they defy logic, and dilution, I still stand by what I know. If it does not evaporate, it is still there...Even if they say it vanishes magically after 24-48 hours.

In the forum post I quoted several pages back the Seachem Representative suggested that Prime “biodegrades” in 24~48 hours…

The member of Seachems forum who responded to my recent question suggested it “oxidizes in the aquarium water or evaporates as a type of gas”

All three of these are scientific process that can very logically explain how/why Prime doesn’t build up…

You have been repeatedly supplied with this information yet are again asking for it… I don’t understand…

As I mentioned above, I can accept/understand that reading this information may not change your mind on the subject. But by suggesting logical scientific processes “defy logic” or are “magical” is discrediting them without merit.

…And to keep the peace… I say this in friendly tones with a smile on my face… It’s not about being right or wrong, it’s not about changing anyone’s mind… it’s just about discussing logical facts/opinions and discussing things as we honestly see them…

Or??? Hmmm Come on man.

i have a thought problem for you, if the prime is just sitting in the tank, and the fish always excrete ammonia, isnt it going to come into contact with the ammonia fairly shortly? wether you have a well cycled tank or not the bacteria colony isnt going to reach the ammonia immediately so the prime should be attaching itself to the ammonia to be broken down by the bacteria in any aquarium, just my 2 cents :P

The way that reads is it may do one of two things, I read it again, and it makes sense if they are saying 1 of the 2 will get rid of it, as apposed to (what I read as) assuming one process, should get rid of the prime.

This is arduous, and it is obvious that the people who believe they know what I know are hiding behind the scenes watching me duke it out with 30 people who disagree. All of this is fine, but by no means is my steeping out of this mess, accepting the crap they are plunging around the web all of the sudden.

Q: I've heard that Flourite's™ content of arsenic is 18 ppm. Any comments on this?
In an attempt to tarnish the reputation of Flourite®, some brands have made claims that Flourite® contains arsenic. This is true, but what they won’t tell you is that their substrate contains arsenic as well

:ROFL::ROFL: This is Some crap I saw in less than 2 min's of looking around their site.....Tell me they would not "change their stance" to keep up sales.... I'm done here......
