I didn't have any problem with the filter priming, I placed the hoses in the tub, plugged in the filter, and instant whirlpool.
The reseal went over with no problem, as this is the 4th or 5th time I've had to reseal a tank. I tell you that this should be a side side side job as the hardest part is cleaning out the old silicone.
