over filtered?

On my 40 gallon tank i have a magnum 350 deluxe with biomax in the media container. Also i have a AC50. Is this over filtered? I know it is definately not under filtered.

lol ok. Another Q: i might be getting a 180 gallon soon what should i do for a heater and filters. For filtration would the Magnum 350 and a Fluval 405 be sufficient?

Instead of the magnum and fluval, I'd recommend 2 eheim 2217s. They're great and provide more biofiltration

thats right there is no such thing as over filtration...but there is such thing as over flow rate

I'm a huge fan of over filtration but did learn my lesson one over-sized filter is better for maintance then 4 large ones ..

How does a Magnum 350 and a Eheim 2217 sound. I am only 14 and i can't really afford to spend tons of money. As i said i already have the Magnum 350 on my 40 gal so i can really only afford another canister for the 180 gal that i am getting soon. I will look into the Eheim 2217. Thanks for the help guys.

the 2217 will handle an average stocked tank up to 160g so i would think that would be a nice combo of filters..
Try buying them online there are some good deals if you shop around.

I'm 15. I bought an Eheim 2215 and a Penguin 350 for my 75. If you like over filtration, get a canister and a biowheel. Also, not that thgis matters, but I have a Penguin 280 and Eleite hush 35 filter on my 30g.
