over flow help please

i thought tank level would always be as low as the slots in the top of te over flow box how ill ading holes further down make the water lower im sorry i am very new to sumps and plumbing

This is the All Glass Mega flow overflow system that I use. As you can see it takes in water at 3 different levels but the inner wall determines how much the water will siphon down too. You could probably make something similar, just that you would need an inner and outer casing.

excelent thats what i was thinking i new id seen something like this somewhere i wonder how critical it will be or if i could just use power heads for more flow and debris circulation
