yeah i went to cali for a vacation and my girlfriend was caring for my tank while i was gone (just feeding the fish) and the heater broke and she didn't notice and the temperature went up to 100 and all my fish died except a lone danio (dont ask why i had a danio)....
she took them out but when i came home there was one dead one hiding in a bush and when i saw it and tried to take it out, it literally turned into a cloud of scales:ROFL:

lesson: don't let someone who doesn't notice unusual heat when they open the lid to feed the fish take care of your fish while you're away:headbang2

Why it's her fault when the heater broke?

Lesson: It's only fish and accidents happen...

sucks... I had a extra heater from a tank I took apart sitting on my plastic top to my fry tank... I was moving into my new house and left a few tanks up at my moms while making the move. My step father plugged in the heater... a week later when I came over he was like you lid melted because of the light... I looked over and the heater was still on melting... He told me he plugged it in after I left a week ago... I have plastic dripping into my fry tank with Zaire Blue Fronts in it... They ended up okay... worse he has two tanks of his own and did not notice it... He fed daily...

haha i wasn't blaming her, i was just saying someone that feeds the fish (aka lifts the lid up daily) would notice if the tank was hotter than usual. aswell there is a thermometer but i didn't tell her to check it so that part was my bad. i didn't think of the heater possible breaking:ROFL:

WHAT IS THE APPROPRIATE PUNISHMENT FOR THIS??/

1. BAN FROM MFK
2. CONFISCATE ALL HIS FISH
3. ELECTRIC CHAIR
4. MAKE HIM EAT FISH FOOD FOR A MONTH
