Thanks for your advice so far everyone.

Well lets say I have my 75 G right now and it has a Herichys Carpintis and two Jack Dempseys. I wouldnt mind a Jaguar at some point, so i'll put that on my list though I am aware of their potential size not to mention predatory reputation.

Here is a list of my favourite species so feel feel to tell me what would not work and what would and how many baring in mind there are 3 already in there and they are 4 inch and two 5 inch.

Midas
Jaguar
Oscar
Green Terror
Festae

Hybrid
Flowerhorn

I am really not at all fussed on what goes in as I really like any CA cichlid. I wouldnt mind a few bigger cichlids in there but won't be stubborn, only if its right. I hate the idea of cichlids growth being stunted etc they should be free to reach a nice decent size.

Would growth be slower if there was a larger group?

Thanks
I would definitely not place these fish in a 75 together. At least 5 of your choices would require a minimum of a 75 just for itself as an adult. These cichlids are territorial and get too large to have enough swimming space to share with so many other large fish. They will not attain full potential size in that scenario and I still think you would encounter fights and deaths. For your stock to work you would need a much larger tank than a 75. Overstocking with large cichlids works best with large tanks, very frequent water changes, and trial and error stocking. If you want to reasonably crowd a 75, go with the smaller cichlids and avoid having mated pairs.

You should just get a pair of Red Terror's and leave it at that.
The Green Terror is usually very, very aggressive and is one of those "large-mouth cichlids" we all love so dearly.
I love them.
I don't know if I'd mix green/red terrors.. They might go fine together.

Jaguars are ridiculous and getting just one would outgrow your tank eventually if he has a good life. My friend has a 14" Jaguar, who is the proud father of a 22" Jaguar.
They don't stop growing and their mouth is usually about as big as their head.
Alot of my friends, and even myself, hate or strongly dislike oscars.
They're ugly, eat eat eat, aren't as aggressive as everyone says, but they're very smart.
I always consider it the pitbull of cichlids.

If you want to stock a large tank with medium-large cichlids that will most likely get along,
remember to make obvious territories and caves.

Spend a lot of time researching each individual fish before you even think about buying it,

These are two websites I use alot, along with other various websites and of course,
MFK! (But honestly, people would rather have you google your questions as much as possible before asking here.. we get tons of "Can I put an oscar with a neon tetra and 5 large goldfish in a 75 gallon forever?"

Severum
Angelfish
Geophagus
Discus
Ramirezi
Look all these up and see if they strike your interest.

Africans would work really really well for what you want though, but they can be a little difficult to upkeep.

Best of luck, and sorry about the book.

Cool, thanks for your advice I do know a bit about certain species and their potential size etc. My thread was answered really when someone said over stocking can only work in larger tanks, so I will wait for an upgrade sometime !

Thanks again
