Overflow box

Hi all.....

i am starting a small build, i have some queries i need to resolve....

firstly the tank footprint is 48"X18"X24" with a 10G sump(would i need a bigger sump?)... so the volume would be on the 90G mark... i cant get acrylic overflows over here so i thought would make my own glass overflow box like i found in the glasscages site... the pic below...
my Q is... what width i need to have my box at? (is 8"X4"X23" good enuf?
how many bulkhead holes i need at the bottom.. one of 1" or two holes of 1" and 3/4"?

i will be using 8mm glass for the build... so would the 8mm glass be enuf for the O box?

the pump i am goin to fit is a 360GPH.... need comments and advice... thank you....

Well I have a 125 and got two overflows id say ur one should be fine the pipe to the sump is 1 inch and the return is 3/4 so I know that at least works but it looks like ur problem with ur build is its gonna be skimming the top unless u some how get it to pull from the lower area I have plastic overflow box which has two walls back wall has no holes and front wall has holes near bottom and top so that it pulls water from the bottom also

Well I have a 125 and got two overflows id say ur one should be fine the pipe to the sump is 1 inch and the return is 3/4 so I know that at least works but it looks like ur problem with ur build is its gonna be skimming the top unless u some how get it to pull from the lower area I have plastic overflow box which has two walls back wall has no holes and front wall has holes near bottom and top so that it pulls water from the bottom also

if you can show me a pic of your overflow would be great....

other than the sump i am goin to put in a power head with a over the head filter box which will have a power of say 1200 lph just to collect the dirt from the bottom... this will only give a mechanical filtration and the powerheads will give enuf surface agitation....

my main concern is the width of the overflow box and the outlets to the sump....

Ignore the mess in the over flow need to clean it but as far as the build u can't really see it but the holes is where the salt residue is from previous tank when put the outlet make sure u have the pvc up a bit to prevent to much drain into sump and my return since I have two and they were making so much noise I turned it into a spray bar

Once again its a mess I'm in the process of making a DIY background and then maybe get other fish since mine is pretty empty

The spray bar is jus above water level so it agitate water I know u can't see it because of top frame

Here are some pics of my sump and overflows on my 260g and 75g sump, if you want pics of top of overflow and inside to see inlets form tank and outlets into tank from sump just let me know. I will figure you have a good idea unless I hear back

Looks like a good set up ya I made my sump it was my first build and kinda rushed it now I regret it because it fell apart so I have to find some way to fix it while in the stand and semi run to keep air in the water is your 75g tall or long mine is long can I see ur build if its long

you pulled it outta ma head Gabriel ... yea Jeff same query here.... im just guessing the 3/4" is the spraybar back to the tank? and also the inlets to the tanks with the FTS plz....
