A micron is one 25th of a thousandth of an inch or one thousandth of a millimeter, i think.
I think he is talking about a screen of a certain size maybe he forgot the number.

Like lastly a layer of 15 micron pad, maybe.

Who knows lol, Sorry i was getting food and my buddy posted this. He is right about that kind of micron measurement... Not sure if that's what you guys are talking about.

Im not sure either. How much does all of this run. And from the sounds of it its going to be filter floss, 2x Matting, Purigen, Bio balls, and then micron screening? Could anyone post a picture of this micron stuff so i know what im looking for please.

The Purigen doesn't necessarily need to go in the box right? I could put it under the egg crate that way it would be easy for me to clean. The space where my sump is going to be is going to be very tight so it would be best if I could make it to where it would be easily manageable. Thanks everyone who has been posting I really appreciate all of the help

Micron is a unit of measure. The micron pad looks like white felt. All of the mechanical filtration should take place before the water hits the bio-media. Where you put it doesn't matter for the most part. Mine is in sequence with the finest media last which is kind of common sense.

I have no idea what you're asking and no idea how anything I said could need further explanation. I can't help you any further.
