orignally planned on using a glass holes overflow but after having as many problems with noise as I am now I want something else. Any recommendations? Right now I'm leaning towards an Eshopps M overflow box which is rated for 800gph. Would prefer something that doesn't have to be siliconed in place too.

No experience with that model but i like the look of it. I had one of those h.o.b eahopps overflow flood.my garage (u tube lost siphon) but that one looks much safer. I noticed amazon has a larger one with more bulk head fittings. I would probably gp with the larger one and set up dry/emergency drains if possible

The red tube on this one actually is the emergency drain. I originally considered going with the larger version but it seems like it might be a bit overkill for a 65 gallon? I know more filtration is better but at 800gph the tank is being turned over 12x

Let others chime in because i dont want to steer you wrong having never used that model but i did use a similar one (hob) on my 75 and im pretty sure it was rated for 800gph too. What pump are you going with ? If you use a jebao or other dc pump you can throttle the flow down. Also you'll lose gph due to headloss (return side)

Yea I like that feature a lot too. I have a glassholes overflow on my other tank and haven't been a huge fan.

So at the lowest setting your reaching the overflows max capacity? I dunno man if it were me i would probably want a little more wiggled room to maybe increase flow if i ever wanted to anf leavr some room for error

See what others think but i think either way you'll be alright
