I recently purchases a 65 gallon AGA w/ overflows. My problem is that when I went to install the 3/4" bulkhead it would not fit...either the hole is too small or the bulkhead is too big. Has anyone ever ran into this problem? If so how did you correct it. I uploaded a pic to show my problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Looks like you need to get a smaller bulkhead

Where can I find a smaller bulkhead with the hose barb built in like this one? I went to the store I bought the kit from and they gave me a new bulkhead and a new hose barb but no way to connect them both. Went to home depot and couldn't find any type of coupler to connect the two. Have been on the internet but can not find anything like it.

Thanks for the link. I will dig around and see if I can find something that works. I also emailed the company and am going to await thier reply. I will give an update when/if I hear back from them. I may just end up pulling the whole thing out of the wall and taking the whole set up back to the store if the company doesn' t have a fix. Thanks for all the help!!!

I don't understand what the big deal is here...... if you get the right size bulkhead any Menards or Lowes will have a way to use a hose barb on it.

Use the right size bulkhead and glue a piece of PVC pipe in it then glue a threaded end to the pipe and screw a hose barb on it.... I have done this many times..... Don't let this little set back discourage you.....

Remember Bob the builder "can we build it? Yes we can".

You don't have this in the wall yet.LOL I think i passed a home depot on my way down there. They should have something that will work.

My guess would that you have a hole drilled for a 1/2" bulkhead.

1/2" Bulkhead requires 1 1/8" diam. hole
3/4" Bulkhead requires 1 7/16" - 1 1/2" diam. hole
1" Bulkhead requires 1 3/4" diam. hole
etc.

However YMMV. Sched 40 vs Sched 80 and from one brand of bulkhead to the next. The drill hole size vs size of bulkhead can vary.

Hey nate! It is all set to go as soon as I get the plumbing right! I will post pics soon. My lovely wife had misplaced our camera. After tearing the house apart looking for it for two days...it was at my sister in laws house. I will be posting pics soon. Just taking my time and trying to do it right. Slow and steady wins the race.
