OVERFLOWED TANK THREAD!!!!!!!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I can't believe this crap. I just made a few comments in here that I never had a "serious" overflow.....well guess what. Last night I had a few to drink and forgot that I was making up a new batch of RO water for my reef. I have two 32 gallon trashcans on wheels. One for good water one for reject. I fell asleep and woke up this morning to water all over the bloody place. I don't know how long they were overflowing. This sucks. I've been cleaning up all day. Think I need to get a float valve?? lol. #$%^!!!! $#%$ !!! It felt good to get that out.

I overflowed my 600 on Monday Waiting for the shipper to drop of a new tank!
So I am filling the tank and the delivery guy calls and tells me that he will be in the area in a few minutes.
I hear a horn and run outside. I then start helping to unload the tank, I tell the guy I have a dolly and need to go into the house and get the key for my storage. While I am walking up the driveway, I hear a trickle of water... OH F*@#!!!!!

I run into the house and see the overflow and bottom of the stand completly filled with water! Water is flowing aound my island in my kitchen like a river and headed down the hallway.
My dog comes to greet me and slips and eats ****! lol (not funny at the time)
I grab every towel, blanket, bed spread, table cloth, and even rags and throw them every where, after all I still need to unload my new tank....

When My wife got home and had to do 8 loads of laundry she was PISSED!

I now plan to drill a hole on my wetdry and through my floor to run a pvc overflow. That way if I for get, no problems...

Just overflowed the resivoir again last wknd. I knew it was only a couple of inches from the top, then a while later I remembered.

Ever overflowed a pond full of expensive koi with chlorinated water??
I had just drained my 1500 gallon pond down 30% and half way through filling it back up I decided I would go do the dished. So I get the dishes done and decided that I was already in the kitchen I should start dinner. Well, an hour later I remembered I had been in the middle of something important, but . . . what was it  ? Let me tell ya, half an hour later I look out the kitchen window to see my toy poodle walk by the pond and with every step the yard splashed :WHOA: ! Oh my god . . . the koi!!!! I ran out the sliding glass door and into the yard, my whole yard was a puddle and the koi were floating  . The water got turned off real real fast.
I ran back inside to get the dechlorinator but lo and behold I was out!!! It kept getting better, the closest LFS had one little bottle (16 oz.) for $18 I bought 3. I got home just in time to save all but two of the koi, thank god.
It was a costly mistake that I do not plan on repeating anytime soon. :nilly:
