im just try figure out how u have it plumbed with the overflow kit and it haveing a hole in middle of tank

Ask a specific question and I'll answer it.

I have an overflow from glass-holes.com and two additional holes at roughly the mid-level of the tank and I'm planning to add another hole at the lower area. All of these go to the same sump via a kick *** bio tower.

Disclaimer: I don't have fish in the tank yet so I'm not sure how kick *** it is ;)

Check out my 360 thread there's a bunch of pictures.

thanks egon thats whatI want to do exactly. if I tied thevent of the durso to the overflow box that would work wouldnt it. ifthe water level lowereditwould suck air andquit right? it works in my head anyhow lol

Can you open the attached? Some reason I can only upload it as a link?

How it works: Water flows through the bulkhead in the bottom of the tank (the attached picture) or the side of the tank (my 360 thread) or anywhere below the water surface of the tank. Then the water flows up the pipe to the water level of the tank and you must put a T fitting there for a siphon break. One part of the T goes up to above the water level the other part goes back down to your sump. The water just spills over that T fitting and goes to the sump.
Two or more holes? Right after the T fitting have the water spill over into a larger pipe going horizontally across the back of the tank just about 6" below the waters surface. Run that larger pipe along the back of your tank and just plumb in each over flow to it then run the larger pipe to your sump. Or you can run each overflow separately to your sump you will just have a mess of plumbing back there but it will work. The tricky part is getting all the T fittings (where the water spills over) at the same level and that level will be the tanks highest water level. Once you have it set up and you find the water level in your tank is an inch to low you need to move all the T fittings up 1 inch. It's a pain in the butt so don't glue the vertical risers until your satisfied with the water level in your tank.

As for pumps, I like Reeflo brand pumps.

LOL I like Quiet One submersible pumps :) less bulkheads and less possible chances to leak.

Of course you ask 5 MFKers you will get 5 "opinions" on the best pump.

This is the basic idea. I just plumbed to the side of my tank not the bottom.

You can look to my 360 thread for connecting the overflows. Basically the 1.5" holes/plumbing go to a 2" T fitting then the 2" line is plumbed to the "Bio-Tower" and that drains into my sump. The Glass-holes overflow is also a 1.5 inch line and that goes directly to the "Bio-Tower" also.

Wow, I wish I'd seen that before I set up the filtration on my 130 that is bottom drilled. I'm always worried about floods because I am bottom drilled running two canisters. Great Idea though, I think I'll do that if I ever re-vamp the filtration on this thing.

I don't understand? Your running canisters? Like closed loop? How can it flood?
