Overly Agressive Arowana

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I agree. I would take that behavior over being shy, timid and hiding everytime I opened the lid. Just be thankful yours is that sweet!

this is what you have to do, pick a time of the day that you are going to feed him, lets say 4pm. now make sure that is the only time of the day that you feed him.
start in the morning and stick your hand a few times a day in the tank, do that for about a week and he will start getting use to you and the agression will be less every day. once he realyzes that you are not a threat her aggressin will desapear

it must be high or hungry feed it more xD

il trade u mine for urs lol
but it has something to do with what you are feeding him
live foods make fish more aggresive because it kick in their instincts
mabey if you are feeding him white or pinkish foods like the color of your hands he might mistake it for food

I appreciate all the support and at least I know my arowana is an awesome one. Well for the record I BARELY put feeders in the thank nowadays (I use to put it a little more often). Like I said he eats everything.. hikari sinking carnivore pellets, hikari cichilid gold, hikari cichilid excel, brine shrimp/spirulina (frozen), tubifex works (fd) , blood worms (frozen), beefheart (frozen) , krill (fd) seriously anything that goes into the tank is up for grabs for him. But like I said feeders make up less then 2% of its diet I would say.

I guess its better this way, and its cool to show off to my friends that he bites and how agressive he is. Its almost like having a dog haha. Its just a pain in the but when I wanna do a water change. Also I must say its rather convenient that he dosen't attack anyone but me. Better me then the rest of his tankmates. He's even ok with the little clown loach that could probably fit in its mouth coming up for food. When I put food in my hand for him to eat from it ( I tried to teach him the difference between hand and food) he was able to ONLY get the food each time) Its Very strange. I also don't like the jumping as he seems to tear his fins, but they grow back quickly.

aggressive aros is good to me...
try nt to put in ur finger den....hehehehe :D
