I think your mix is perfect, nothing to aggresive, nothing that gets real big and enough cichlids to diffuse and spread out aggresion. the vejas will get 12 inches but it is good to have vejas as your biggest dom. fish. good luck

you do need numbers if you are going to do a community, numbers and site breakers, If you drop down to 6 or 7 fish you will have more aggresion probs. as they grow.

i thought I was over stocked. lol!!
lets see that! I feel sorry for your fishes. Must feel terrible to be in that tank. Why so many?

The escondido is an *** hole fish. It's hard with him. but about your tank, how does your fish grow like that? Do you look to lessen? That's just nuts.

They grow , I do 70% wchanges weekly, didnt plan it that way just wanted pair of festae , but as they grew get attached to them, hoping to get to summer before I have to split them up, not much aggresion, look in media section i put up video

So is it ok to put in a couple more? I got another 4" Breidhori and a 9" red texas(mellow). So a few more should be ok? Can they live that way and able to reach adult sizes? Say 15 of them.

in al seriousness i wouldn't, this is the most fish I've ever had in one tank, I think 10 to 12 10' to 12" inch fish is Ideal for a 150, and nothing that u have is real agresive. Plus they are already established in their pecking order. since I've had my fish i have had 2 losses , 1 festae at 1.5" when i put it up in nov and beginning of month my biggest dovii jumped out of tank with out mark on him, that one hurt my heart, he had a nice nunchal and really good adult coloration.

everything went in the tank by dec. and at 1.5 to 2.5 inches with the exception of umbie and two of the male doviis and the doviis took a good beating from established male dovii, they healed up in about 3 weeks, the last option is taking a fish out for aggresion imo, because that fish can not be reintroduce, I just watch the aggresion as much as I can and let them work it out
