Friend has a 3.5 x 1.2 x1.2 feet tank or smthg. Inside he alrdy has like a 14 inch endlicheri and 2 ornates. He used to have a 16 inch redtail golden arowana but it died due to no oxygen. Now he got an African tiger fish. Told him it’s overstocked and the tiger fish would grow wayyyy to big. He wouldn’t listen. Guess some don’t want to be helped.

Your friend probably doesn't care about proper aquarium size for the fish.

What tlindsey tlindsey said. It’s one thing to cram too many fish in a tank. Here he is putting fish in the tank that get bigger than the tank actually is. You can try showing him a picture of a full grown tiger fish? Or, as unfair as it is to the fish, the only way he will learn is if they all die.

That tiger fish, if it lives long enough, will shred the bichirs. God forbid it survives long enough and he has to do anything inside such a small enclosure.... surefire way to lose some digits as they do not like small spaces or feeling trapped. We had one that felt claustrophobic in a 12' pool...

Either way this goes, he is gonna learn the hard way

Man, he must have a lot of money not to blink and learn from the death of the Asian Aro.

At that point why not have a larger tank?!:duh:

It would kill the bichirs?? I don’t think it will have enough space to grow to be big enough to kill the bichirs in the first place

Characins don’t care about size. Even the skittish species will go after whatever it feels like, especially if it’s pissed.
