I think this thread should probably be closed.

All based on the fish and cichlids that are not shy will be personable since they see you as their food source and get excited to see you

take a look at just one of many male dovii, like this one and tell me that all they need is 75 gallons of water

i've got more where that came from too

thats a bad dovii :headbang2. and i agree, a 75 is way too small to house one for life. but if i had to chose between a Dovii or an RD, i might have to go with a Dovii, if i had the chance to get one and i had the adaquet room.

Red Terrors - Amphilophus festae get very large and do beg for food. I have 6 of them right now and they definitely react when I am in the fish room. Right now the one pair is guarding some fry so they are pretty much keeping to themselves but the other 4 cruise right up to the top looking for food.

Oscars and Midas have a lot of personality and beg for food and bump the glass. If you create a situation where there is competition for food, they will pretty much always beg for food.

Nobody is telling people to ignore your advice because they dont like you, large_cichlids, its because you are seldom right, obviously never know as much as the person you are trying to argue with, and are so stubborn that after being told the same thing so many times, you just disregard the good advice and substitute your own. If you knew a quarter of what you always say you do, you'd not be giving the advice you always give. I am going to second the "never listen to large_cichlids, he's an obstinate know it all (though he actually knowns not much) who can't spell" notion.

And for the original poster, who I;m sure is regrettful of his thread being hijacked, Just about any CA cichlid will become very owner responsive when they start to associate you with food. My favorite though is an oscar. They dont want to kill you, they want to be your friend.
