Hi guys,
I have a 190 gallon tank with CA/SA cichlids in it. I was just wondering if the oxygen levels would be ok.

I have 2 Eheim 2080's filters, so the outlet of the filters create some surface agitation. This is the only movement in the tank.

I know a lot of you guys use powerheads. So would I need one?

Temperature is around 82, and I have 8 cichlids in it that range from 7-12 inch.

Thanks

i have bubblers. ive had fish die from the bubblers getin riped out by dog/cat idk who did it tho

Are the fish gasping? if they are not then your good

No they aren't. But they did gasp before so I put the filter outlet in a different way to create more surface agitation. After that the gasping stopped.

So I thought maybe there is 'just barely' enough oxygen.

If you are worried, lower the temperature to 78 f, higher temperature=lower amount of oxygen in the water

Yea I know the temperature has an effect on oxygen leves.. that's why I mentioned the temp in my first post, just didn't really think it would have a very big effect if I decreased it a little.

Thanks for the advice.

Guess I will just go buy a powerhead.

I was wondering if adding a protein skimmer to a freshwater tank for more oxygen is a bad idea.
