Oz Fishing - Freshwater (Monster Jardini)

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
That was Peter, my mate holding the fish.

You can see why they are called 'bony tongues'.

It was caught on a 7 weight fly rod and a floating fly.

Alot of literature have quoted Oz aros max out at 3 ft. Well, this one was just over 3 ft at 96 cm, and I have personally seen a jardini caught at 112cm and a leichardti come out of Cania Dam at 117cm. That's just a about 1 inch shy of 4 ft, so :p to those literature. lol.

You can see that my mate's hand could have fitted inside the aro's mouth.

What was the fight like? did it jump and try to throw the hook? I so want to catch one of them come to the uk and fish our rivers you 2 could catch some of these:grinyes: Why the hell would you want to fish there?

It slashed at the fly as soon as it landed, then preceded to jump all over the place twisting and turning. Took about 5 minutes.

About your suggestion...ahmmm....you can stick to your trolleys and carp, and I'll stick to my saratogas, barras, tarpons, jacks etc.:grinyes:

That is a nice jar, that would be fun to go fishing for them.
