Got an P. Afer aka arowana knife, african featherfin knife etc in a friends QT because mine has too small of fish and the thing is already like 6 inch!!

Got it for 15$, good deal? I've never seen one for sale before so idk haha

So pumped to have my dream knife! Anyone else have one of these? I think krich does, how's the growth rate and temperament on em? So far in my friends QT its doing fine w/ some bichir, an Orino pbass, and a baby mala wolf

Yep,he sure does have one...best knife fish species out there IMO!Fifteen bucks is a great deal as they usually go for at least twice that amount.
 
Nice! How big is yours currently? Mine just survived a run in w/ bloody face, grabbed by the head and thrashed a bit but hes alive, a bit of a missing pec fin and some cuts he should be fine

Mine is pushing twelve inches now and has turned a nice brownish green color with plenty of spots along its flanks.It eats a pellet every once and a while and tilapia but lives to hunt down feeders at night with the lights off...Did that mala get to yours?
 
Nah I haven't gotten the Mala yet as I think him and my red wolf (bloody face) would fight to the death, twas bloody face. He usually checks out new additions and sometimes they get a test bite haha

Same here id hate to lose it, it was the monly one at the LFS ive ever seen! Cant wait to see him get huge, ive been adding melafix and salt to help w/ the healing process and keeping the tank extra clean
