P.afer won't eat

You need to find something 'meaty' worm, larva, etc...Bloodworms get expensive if used as a 'staple' food. Look into silversides too, these are just freshwater minnows that are clean and packaged for fish food. just take a minute to thaw them first.

For hiding spots- you can be simple with it and get a piece of PVC pipe and weigh it down, this will provide a safe retreat for your knife.

hey bro i've just got a big ass piece of driftwood from my lfs and it seems to have taken a liking toward it, stopped hiding under the powerhead and swims around the driftwood now. i gave up trying to wean it on pellets today and fed it 2 cubes of bw :/ it gobbled them up immediately! ah well i guess pellets are a no no

Bristle worms, looks gross, but I'm sure your right...if it squirms-the knife will eat it!

Good call on the drift wood...looks like your knife has taken to it well! Did you soak it/boil it first? if not be prepared for brown tinted water-doesn't hurt the fish, but will drop your PH a bit.
