p bass noob... need id

Different dorsal fin and monos r green? Enlighten me please. Never knew bout tat one....headshape, markings obvious ones. Man learn new things for iding cichla everyday

For OP id they look like monos from headshape but the one w 3 spots is prob mono/occel hybrid farmie

Here is an adult ocel

notice the third stripe has formed into an "ocel" and the bright red eyes. You can also tell them apart by slightly different head shape and dorsal fin but you just need to see a lot of them

To me monos have a more pronounced Dip in the dorsal and the ocel will have a more gradual slope

In my experience all monos have a very green base color but some ocels can be more of a brown base like this guy

OHHHHH!!!!! I totally agree that occels have a more slopped heas but I think ur talking about headshape NOT dorsal fin shape....on color ive seen quite a few uellow peru monos like snookns....n some of TUiC's...i think mood and lighting has alot to do with it...ive go pics of an example but im on my iphone rite now
