Question for you P-Bass keepers. Any idea why my P-Bass would be spending most of its time sitting on the bottom of the tank. For the last week, it mainly hangs out at the bottom of the tank sitting there. Always the same area. Still swims around and eats fine. But instead of swimming around like it usually does with the other P-Bass, it seems it would rather sit on the bottom of the tank in the same area.
Tank is a 360 gallon tank.
All nitrate, Ammonia, Nitrite and PH readings are fine. Where they should be.
Tank has been up and running for 3+ years.
Not sure how old Pbass are but one is 12" and other is 14". Ive had these fish for over a year.
This one has been doing this for over a week. Still eating and swims around, but seems to want to spend most of its day at the bottom sitting.
History.
We did have 3 P-Bass in this tank. 2 were 12" , then the one larger 14"
one of the 12" (one sitting on bottom) and the 14" always stayed together.
The other 12' seemed to be the odd man out. If it got close to the other P-Bass, the larger one would chase it away.
Yesterday, I did get a call from my wife and she had found the Odd Man Out P-bass dead.
She could not see any reason why. I never got to see the fish before she disposed of it.
But the 2 remaining P-Bass were always the ones that stuck together.
But this one for the past week has been sitting on the bottom most of the day.
Eats great and still swims around good. No signs of stress or rapid breathing. Just sits there.
No signs of being hurt. I do notice that the lower part of it seems to be sunk in some. About a 3" area close to the bottom of it seems to be sunk in just a little.
See pic if you can tell what Im talking about.
Any idea what would be the reason for it sitting on the bottom.
