i hear that when antennas break their tail their survival rate goes down a few notches. Anyone care to comment on that?

90% of the Antenna Rays that are imported have the tail break off in shipping. Due to the fact that it gets curled up in the bag and is exposed to air. This usually leads to a bad fungal infection, because it often breaks off at the base. From their, the ray will become very stressed out, and often refuse food. They seldom eat earthworms or red wigglers, but he loves ghost shrimp and black worms. When this one first came in, he was covered in fungus and didn't eat for a few days. After quite a few helpings of ghost shrimp it began to chow on black worms, and really bounced back.

I have never kept it with other rays, I was told small-eyed rays mixed with other rays is a no-no. I have also read the tails will never grow back to full length, however this ones tail has been growing very nicely. He has a very interesting personality, compared to most rays, as well.. Not like your common ray, seems more inquisitive, but less personable. Kind of acts like a 'rogue', but with a very playful disposition, as he loves to play with the flash zebra cats in his tank (bugs them?)..

I would love to see someone keep a big one, that's for sures. If anyone is interested in more, I will be getting them in soon enough.. I am also coming up with a shipping method to keep that tail in-tact! Watch out, this could be the new 'special' ray in town!
