Well, not sure if that request was for me or not, but here are some updated pics of my two 'retics'. I focused especially on the tail of my darker one, because that is where he seems to show the most pronounced morphological difference from the lighter one, most specifically, the lack of spines. My lighteer-colored ray has 5 or so small spines on its tail, although I was unable to get a clear picture of them. Miles' rays are exactly the same, so maybe he'll be able to provide a comparison photo or at least a better description. Keep in mind the rays are still young, but I have good reason to suspect they may end up significantly different as adults, maybe to the point of different species(?).
Although this could be separate body structures for each type.. it is hard to tell what is what, especially after Rosa explained one to be an orbignyi.
One thing as far as the bladed tail vs pointed tail.. if a tail is damaged in shipping, it may be damage for quite some time.. One of my rays does not have a 'blade' because it had its tail snubbed in shipping.
The spines on the tail are an interesting observation. Perhaps use the high res photos and crop them down better? Send em my way if you can
I used to have two retics which were 'normal' pics attached
Here are some pics of the red morph just after I got them so sorry they are skinny (getting nice and fat now). All the rays were between 5 and 6" but as you can see the male has fully developed claspers and both have a mottled marking on the underneath compared to the normal retic. If you want more pictures then let me know.
