Maybe the competition for food with other rays will entice him to eat.

It may help. My little retic has learned to eat a more varied diet since I moved it into the big tank with the hystrix. I have problems with him eating earth worms; he will only eat really tiny worms (like black worm size) and not small pieces of cut worm. Can't figure out why, it is still worm. Tonite I fed my rays worms. Same thing, the retic wouldn't eat cut pieces. I sent a 1/2" piece of cut worm to the bottom for one of the hystrix and the little retic jumped on it. At the same time the big hystrix jumped on the rectic. Well, the retic ate the large piece of worm. I think he didn't want the hystrix to take it...

Good to know, this flower is pretty aggressive eater..i will be trying it this weekend or the next. He is starting to run out of room in a 12" wide tank
