P senegalus feeding?

Thanks, I put some pellets in last night and left them until this morning. They had all sunken by then, but there was no sign of bite marks. If I soak then toss, how long can I leave the sunken cichlid pellets in the water before removing so it doesn't mess with water quality?

Thanks, I really do hope it starts to eat soon. If he doesn't take pellets by Saturday, I've got a guppy fry with a deformed spine that can go in as a swimming snack... Btw, do you know if petsmart carries omega one shrimp pellets?

As an aside, there is currently gravel in his tank, a dark blue, which coincidentally was the same color as the gravel at petsmart. Many sites I read suggest a bare bottom or sandy substrate, so I wanted to ask if anyone here has had success with them in a graveled tank? [Other contents of tank include duckweed, small clump of java moss, water wisteria. Driftwood to come. If I can't find a small attractive piece, possibly PVC.]

i prefer black sand the food is more visible, but i have had my p. sen. in natural colored gravel and he did fine finding food!

the food is more visible to me that is. it is easier to see who is eating how much. i know of the polys smell! it is supposedly one of the best in the fish world!

With shrimp pellets, my baby ate 2 or 3 of em tuesday til i could see the stomach bulge. He nibbled at one yesterday but didnt eat it. I cleaned out uneaten debris about 30 mins ago and will drop him a pellet or two before I go to bed. (Will remove tomorrow morn if uneaten.)

better than nothing! with the amount of w/c's i do i feed alot once a day.
