P. Senegalus location ID

I had captive breed senegal that grew pass 13". Had also Nigerian senegal all grew 11-13". Never had any from congo though. I dont think Nigerian and congo senegal are the same variant since Congo is far away from Nigeria or the basin that they are caught from even if they do migrate. The body of water also do not connect to congo.

but is it normal for them to grow to 12" within 6 months? or is mine just an exception? and how long did it take for yours to grow? im just wondering if it's normal or not. at the same time, maybe his speed of growth may link to his location.

Not really sure if normal or not but it depends on individual or how the owner care for them. Mine grew to 9-10" in a year. In 3 years it reach 14"+ for my captive breed. My nigerian reach 13" in 2.5 years. Reach 8-9" in a year. Some do however never pass 9" even at 3-4 years and still 9".

dang hahhahah do you have pictures if possible? i'd love to see them and hope my senegals reach 14"+. So far I only have 2 of my senegals reach over 12" and my other one which i got for free is 2 years old and is 10" but is a gold-based one.

My 14"+ died a long time ago. But this was the pics I had him nxt to a tape measure as a member here before did not believe that I have a CB senegal that grew bigger than many cb senegal even some WC. Not really into fish that grows fast abnormally anymore as many keepers already proven that fish that grows fast in abnormal rate dies early.

oh nice! i hope my senegals grow that big... and i wish we have access to turkana senegals haha
