no, you realize painter turtle will eat small fish including your caribe? When your Ps are big enough they'll attempt to eat the turtle (your Ps will be 6 inch in 8-10 months if properly feed)

here's a good read for you if you haven't already read it. Got every possible tank mate but it's still hit or miss. Someday you'll have to face the music that you've got a specie only tank

I don't know the painter turtles growth rates but it's your money, you can do whatever you want with it. I would not do it for the reason mentioned.

got a question for you...you thought you had caribes in your first post but now you're calling them red belly, what did you buy them as? Should be a slight price difference

well i thought they were Caribes, at least the guy at the lps said when i went and bought them, the tank had no label thats what he said they were, so then i went back th next day to pick some stuff up, and they labeled it RBP, so i questioned the guy and he went on about how he made a mistake and was new and blah blah, so i talked to the owner who also works there being its a non chain pet-store and he said they ARE rbp... so thats why i changed it, they look exactly like this

It will add quite a bit clean up time in the tank considering I doubt the turtle will want to eat the exact same diet as the piranha. I'm not a turtle expert but it shouldn't be like more than $50 for a very basic turtle setup. I just know I wasn't very happy when I got to watch my friend's turtle eat feeders. It just bit the closest one and let it go so there were all these half eaten sick fish swimming about.
