Here is my P14? It is still under debate whether this ray is a pure blood P14, or a hybrid:popcorn:, even now at 9 months and 7". I'm completely split in two. The breeder's (T1) breeding pair looked completely like P14s, maybe even darker than usual:screwy:. But he came out orange and now looks like this:eek:.
Let me know what you think Everyone;)

The last pic is of my pure blood female:headbang2, all messy and covered in sand for her pic:cry:.

I think that it is too early to tell.

There is nothing to say that pureblood p14 can't kick out some strange patterns from time to time.

I am very hesitant to get into these pureblood vs. hybrid conversations. I just don't think we know enough about them yet.

No matter, it is a beautiful fish! :)

Mike told me that. The longer it takes for them to turn fully black the better they will look.

a stunning ray that's what it is...... so is the female ;)

when he turns black, he will be a show grade specimen. Small dots interspace between bigger dots. Amazing fish.

Hi Alex,

I had both in the same litter, some turn to near black in 6 months while others (the ones with many spots) need a long time to darken. My oldest female pup is now 2 years and not really black more a dark grey/brown.

Thanks for all your very nice coments;).

@Mike. They are about the same age, the female is half a month older, and from another breeder, but the size difference has more to do with the rays themselves than the age difference, and food. My female is 9.5 months old and is 10" and my male is 9 months and only 7".
