By the way, whatever happened to the Team Awesome thread? When I left for Mexico it was at like 2000 posts. Did the train finally derail? (I'm to lazy to wade through all those old posts)
Puffers are cool fish to swim with, they aren't very afraid of people at all. At this spot (Mismaloya) I could see two or three varieties of puffer at any given moment. The porcupine puffers get pretty huge, up to about two feet long. The Golden puffer was at least 14", bigger than a football.
They have a 24" porcupine at the Baltimore Aquarium, they look really cool when they reach that size. It's insane how big some of them get!!!! I got one to inflate before, I sneezed really hard and it scared it pretty badly. It was hilarious though!!!

I've never seen one puff up in the wild, only netting them from an aquarium. I've harassed them before just to see if I could get one to blow up, but they always just swim away...
u shud never do that, when a puffer puffs up its very stressful for them. Many times this action can lead to death if they cant find a quiet place to recover from it.
ANd I like the white spotted puffer, I really want one but i cant be bothered to get a salt tank goin for just one fish...
