PACMAN FROGS

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
that second picture ... wow
big mother!

Any one besides me that has been bitten by them? Its like being in a bear trap! and the only way out is when they decide to let go.

I saw a pic of a bolivian that had died while trying to swallow another that was larger than it was. I have also seen bloody hands on people who used their fingers instead of tongs to feed them, big ones have 1/4" long daggerlike fangs.

I had an african bullfrog (pixie frog) when I was a teenager. Was told they get as big around as basketballs. Mine never got that big. Swallowed a piece of gravel ( the How to keep horned frogs book I got told me to use gravel, found out later that was wrong! ) He ate pinkies and meal worms as a baby then on to full size mice. Would sit there half buried in the gravel and wait untill the mouse walked in front then BAM! Dead very quick. Have 3 "teeth" on the lower jaw and the top jaw is 1 long thin "blade" all around that is angled back so if you pull it digs in.

Don't know if this is true or not but I was told back then that African bullfrogs can live over 30 years!

Not around me, lol, here in Oregon they are illegal and the only place I know where to find them is in a small fishing pond that was stocked with them by a previous owner. they are a real pain and eat the young fish, native frogs, and even baby ducks. Everytime I get out that way I catch a few and then have "swamp chicken" for dinner. :grinyes:
