Pacu 1 crayfish 0

I was hoping to throw a pacu in my 300 to see if it would eat my ex gf, but after your advisory I will have to reconsider.

As long as you don't have your junk hanging out, you should be alright. LOL

omnivorous . Richard if you are near the city and are looking for a pacu, you can take mine off my hands.

I was under the impression that pacu were highly herbivorous,

Pacu are omnivores. They are opportunistic eaters and will eat anything. I've been on fish forums long enough to know that people who like to feed their pacu live food usually end up complaining that their pacu is killing everything in the tank. Yep, you can create your own pacu killing machine....never read about a pacu fed an herbivore diet turning into a killer.

Makes sense. I thought I read some literature stating that they become more herbivorous as they got bigger or something to that effect but you would certainly know better than I. I'm guessing they will eat just about everything.

I'm good on that pacu though bro, I don't have a tank tht could house one of these guys long term.

If they don't eat it, they will still destroy anything in their tank...nothing is safe, including air lines. They are not malicious, just very inquisitive. Without hands, they only have their mouth and teeth to check things out :)

One must properly bite through something or ram it with their face enough to know its not food

My pacus chewed both electrical cords on two separate submersible pumps, I had to build a overflow.
