Pacu and piranhas

A Pacu's mouth has an overbite and is filled with flatter teeth designed for eating fruit and crushing nuts. A Piranha's mouth has an underbite filled with razor sharp teeth designed for tearing a piece of flesh.
 
Also Piranha don't get as big as Pacu. Pacu can reach like 3 feet long and a Piranha, depending on the species, is typically more likely to get 12".
 
I agree with Fishdance and Pevine. The fourth sticky thread has a lot of information on how to tell the 2 apart, along with photographs and drawings.
